at SM hypermarket

Ham and Cheese Pizza from Pizza Pedrico's At SM hypermarket, Mandaluyong in front of Jose Rizal University. It is P39.00 only. It simply tastes good. I am not a pizza lover but I think it is okay specially when it is hot. Joel ate it.

Pork and shrimp siomai with java rice at Hen lin. This is what I ate. I love Henlin's siomai. I don't eat siopao but my mom said it is good. Their products are worth it.

Pansit bihon from Banang's at Mandaluyog Shaw. They have many kinds of Pansit, Filipino viand, different kinds of silogs and different kinds of Filipino desserts. When we don't have any food at home, we just go here and take out some of their specialties. The prices are affordable. I think they also have a branch at Mandaluyong near the city hall. It is featured at ABS-CBN'S morning show with Donita Rose as the host.

pie crust

two crust

one crust

Honestly, I’ve never tried cooking any recipe but sometimes I read recipes that caught my attention. I am going to share about what I learned today. It is about pies and pastry making. I learned that there are two types of pies: the one crust pie and the two crust pie.

The one crust pie is lining a pan pie with a thin layer of pastry dough and then bake. A cooked filling is poured into the shell and cooled. Sometimes, the feeing can be topped with meringue or whipped cream if desired. There is another way, it is to pour uncooked filling in the unbaked shell and bake them together. Another variation is to place the unbaked pastry dough on top of cooked or uncooked fruits, vegetables or meats in a deep dish instead of serving as a lining and then they are all baked together.

The two crust pie I when a thin layer of pastry dough which serves as the lining is filled up with a filling of one’s choice and covered with another thin layer of pastry dough which is sealed and fluted at the edge and baked.

crispy kang kong

This is crispy kang kong of mang inasal. I used to hate it a lot because I was thinking that it tastes like leaves but then my fiend bought some and let me taste it. I was wrong, it taste like Lays or some kind of potato chips. After that day, whenever we eat at mang inasal I make sure that we order some. I like it now. It was served with mayonnaise but I don’t like mayonnaise (hihihi).

new year 2011

These are foods that my mother prepared last New Year 2011. Sorry, we don’t have nice tables and presentations. We have ube, biko, buko salad, leche flan, pancit malabon, embotido, liempo and fruits. My new year is not that happy and not that sad. It is the same feeling as last year. I waited until 12 midnight and then went outside for a minute or two and then went inside and then ate the feast and then wait until the noise went down and then sleep. Honestly, I hate January because t is the start of everything.

cabalen

Dyann, my BSA college friend passed the comprehensive exam for the Accountancy students. The comprehensive exam is made for the 3rd year BSA students. They need to pass it in order to proceed until fifth year without the required grade policy of the accounting subjects. Once you fail the comprehensive exam, you cannot go on as BSA student, you have to shift courses or just continue it to another school. We’re so proud of Dyann. She treated us at Cabalen near their house (Sta. Lucia Grand Mall). Gosh! It’s so far from our school and I can’t imagine how Dyann is taking that every day. The transportation is expensive because we have to ride an LRT going to the last station and we are on the first then we took FX going to the mall. It is so expensive if you do it five times a week.

chocolate lovers

Mama and Tita Rhea went to Chocolate lover located at Cubao to buy blocks of chocolates and new molders. Mama just accompanied tita because tita would be selling her homemade chocolates just for a little business that can increase a little of her income. Mama bought three blocks of chocolate (red, white and brown), new molders, cute containers, chocolate balls, cute plastics, cashew nuts and sticks. She bought all of that because of no particular reason. She said she’ll sell it to my grandmother but I think she just said that. I think she bought it because they’re cute (hahaha). We used to made chocolates but it is very tiring and it needs a lot of patience. My brother and I ate the chocolate balls and it taste good. Try it!

mang inasal

Joel and I always eat at Mang Inasal. I like it there because it is an unlimited rice restaurant with free soup but I don’t try it because I don’t eat that much. It is good for Joel because he is a guy and he eats a lot. I only order the meal that is not valid for the unlimited rice. Mang Inasal’s halo-halo is simple but tastes really good with ice cream on it. Their rice is wrapped on a banana leaf. Last night, I heard the history of Mang Inasal. The founder used to be so poor but he got a brilliant idea of handling the business. He was supported by a rich man and started it successfully. I think his idea of having unlimited rice with free soup and condiments made the business so successful. Being an entrepreneur needs creativity and uniqueness that can attract the consumers.

kenny rogers

It’s Joel’s (my boy friend as of now…hihihi) birthday and we celebrate it at Kenny Rogers, which is one of my favorite restaurants. We like to eat there because the gravy tastes really good and we always get so full but we cannot really eat there all the time because were just college students without any work to supply us cash and use it every once in a while. We bought choco mousse as his birthday cake. Our main dish is the platter with quarter roasted chicken, a cup of rice, and a muffin. I always choose corn and carrots as my side dish. He chose the cold fruits as his side dish. We had large iced tea as our drinks. I deleted our photos because I don’t like how it is taken.

pizza hut

HAZEL

MARON

Whenever Maron (my little brother), Hazel (my cousin), Tita Rhea and I went out to SM Mega mall, one thing is for sure, we’ll eat at Pizza Hut Restaurant. The three of them loves to eat there except me. I hate cheese and I will never ever like it. I hate foods that contain cheese and at Pizza Hut there I no such thing as no cheese food except the Barbeque ribs with rice. Hazel always orders Lasagna because according to her, Pizza Hut’s lasagna tastes like mechado, which is her all time favorite viand. We drink bottomless red iced tea, soft drinks or lemon iced tea. The next time we go there, I think I’ll just order carbonara.the other pictures of the foods we order were accidentally deleted because of my stupidity.
